Every platform draws its own lines. These are the ones Juper checks as you write, so a post that's too long or carries too many photos is flagged in the composer instead of failing when it's due.
| Platform | Caption | Photos per post | Video |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2,200 | 10, as a carousel | Reels, or in a carousel | |
| 63,206 | 10 | 1, on its own | |
| TikTok | 2,200 | 35 | 1 |
| X | 280 a post, longer becomes a thread | 4 | Not yet |
| 3,000 | 20 | 1 | |
| 500 | 1 | 1 | |
| YouTube | 5,000 description | None | 1 |
| Threads | 500 | 20 | Mixed with photos |
| Snapchat | 160 | 1 | 1 |
Long isn't the same as good
Instagram lets you write 2,200 characters, and only the first line or two show before “more”. Put the reason to stop scrolling there. On LinkedIn the cut comes around 200 characters; on Facebook, sooner on a phone.
Threads on X
Write as long as you like for X. Juper splits anything over the limit into a numbered thread, breaking between sentences where it can.
